The Misadventures of Captain Syrup

I love Lyles golden syrup. It's so thick and sticky. And it's in a can with a lid that takes some effort to pry off. Usually. Unless you're 2 and determined. Then it's pretty easy to get out. Everywhere!

House painting day is here!
Well, I painted a couple of test patches and We think we like the new color. I guess it's too late now if we got it wrong. Yikes! By tomorrow the place is going to look like new and we will either love it or hate it. We'll let you know.

First day in Junior High
Well, school is back and Meg had an awesome first day in Junior High. She seems to like the cafeteria food. Oh, and the other students are cool too. Em and I are so impressed by how positive and outgoing she has been so far ... one of her new teachers already commented about her not being all that shy.

Big bro smooches
This is pretty much an every day occurrence for us. Beck just did it
spontaneously one day and he's been trying to get to my belly every
day since. I had to bare the belly to post this video but it's worth
it! Sweet boy :)

Junior High here we come
Well, it came along quicker than we could have imagined. Megan and I have just returned from our annual dad-daughter trip and noticed that the Alder is already turning red, indicating Fall is headed our way. Hard to believe that this summer has come and gone so fast and Meg is about to embark on her next big adventure down the halls of Junior High. This morning we took Meg to orientation at her new school where she got her famed locker and we toured her classrooms. She has six 50min classes each day ... Integrated Science; Tech; Algebra I; Drama; English and US History. Meg was very excited to get in for the advanced math class which she had to test for and drama which she just loves. It was really fun to see her new environment and better still, to see how much she just threw herself into meeting teachers and getting to know the layout and location of classes. Can you believe how grown up she's looking!?
